Maryam Elmi s a Diplomate in Vancouver Career College and licensed by CTCMA and has a good standing in her career.
As part of her clinical education, Maryam has worked with women of all ages to help regulate their menstrual cycle, relieve symptoms of PMS, balance moods, digestion and emotions, regulate and stabilize hormone levels, and support the fertility process as well as provide pregnancy support.
She has also successfully treated people suffering a variety of issues such as having pain, anxiety, depression, stress, digestion conditions, allergies, insomnia, hypertension, and many other internal and external pathological condition. Additionally, because of her background as a dentist and familiarity with different types of headaches, Maryam has great experience in treating patients who suffer from temporomandibular joint issues (jaw pain) as well.
Current Practice
Maryam strongly supports the integration of eastern and western medicine and is committed to helping people reach their utmost potential in physical, mental, and spiritual health, respecting each individual as a unique being. Maryam is treating women, men, and children with a wide range of conditions utilizing a variety of healing tools including acupuncture, cupping, guasha , eastern nutrition, and lifestyle counseling in her practice. While Maryam treats a wide variety of pathologies she has a particular interest in cosmetic acupuncture, weight loss, auto-immune disorders, digestive issues, anxiety and depression, allergies, and asthma.
Background
Maryam studied dentistry at university and practiced dentistry in Iran for more than twenty years. Later in her life when she immigrated to Canada, she decided to change her career to an acupuncturist.
During the treatment, she mixed her western experience with traditional eastern medicine techniques and brought new and effective ones for her patients. She observed people’s struggles with illness and pain and as a result of Chinese Medicine achieve individual health, happiness, balance, and well-being. This experience triggered her own journey of helping people to feel their best, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
